This past week has been great. I had a lot of work to get done. I decided to just work in the studio-all day -all evening. No appointments. No errands, etc. nataa. you get the idea.
(Kids are finally all either in college or graduated and working. )
In the past, having an artist residency somewhere wonderful like I did at VCCA, Anderson Ranch and SFAI has been immensely helpful to work uninterrupted on a series of work I thought why not just have one here rather than moving all my equipment, etc.
Yes, it worked. My paintings for Youngstown-the early years to open Oct 22 at Spark Gallery are really busting at the seams.
Also, wanted to mention that four pieces from "The Great Marsh" series were juried into the upcoming 2010 Juried Alumni Show at DU. The opening is Thursday, Sept. 10 5-8 pm. The jurors were none other than Nora Burnett Abrams from MCA -Denver and Linny Frickman, Director of the CSU Museum. Hope to see you there.
